Hiraethog and Llyn Brenig

North Wales |

About

area-hiraethog2

The hidden gem of forgotten forests, reservoirs and moors making up the Mynydd Hiraethog area belies its proximity from Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. Leave the hustle and bustle behind to find solitude, beauty and action at the hands of singletrack, waymarked and epic mountain bike trails. You can drive yourself hard with 80km rides, or enjoy a gentler family day out, taking advantage of the more leisurely routes and picnic facilities, especially around one of our most popular destinations for mountain bikers, the woodland setting of Llyn Brenig. With its visitor centre and facilities such as parking, bike hire, cafe and toilets, it makes a fantastic base from which to explore this stunning part of North Wales.

    • Scree Fact
Not to boast, but we have one of the UK’s rarest trees hidden in the cracks of our scree cliff face. Sorbus Anglic – a type of Whitebeam – is found here, part of fewer than 250 specimens in existence.
